More or less only thai food.On the other hand we had thai dinner a few times at the restaurant and the food was excellent." | Perfect service 5+++, December 11, 2011

Very good breakfast for asian and western people. Small, refreshing swimming pool on 3rd floor. Our kids love it. Staff friendly and helpfull (some speak english). Free airport transfer." | August 7, 2011

by Darby Line Visit Date:February 1, 2011 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Adequate but rather tired older hotel. Value for the money but if you are expecting luxury, forget it. Very difficult communicating with the staff since almost no one spoke English. All tried very hard to please and were very kind. No one was available at the tour desk throughout our stay and when we asked for suggestions of places to go and things to do we got almost no help. On our own, we discovered a beautiful spa about an hour away, also a town where beautiful bells and gongs are made...no one mentioned any of these to us. Hotel location is just on the outskirts of the main business area...so it was quiet, and only about 10 minutes to the airport. But if you don t have a car, you must rely on tuk-tuks to get anywhere. You can rent cars at the airport and I advise doing this if you will be in town for more than a day or so." | January 1, 2011
by Mark Visit Date:December 28, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Nice hotel for the area. So-so breakfast, if not kind of bad. However, the hotel made an impression on me. I developed a terrible headache from dehydration during my one nights stay. They went out of their way to get me to the hospital and picked me up when I checked out. I stayed there again on my way back and they still were asking how I was doing. Nice people. Nice hotel. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" | April 20, 2010
by Eric Backhouse Visit Date:April 18, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Good location close to airport, with free shuttle service.Friendly and very helpful staff." | Sawasdee has always provided an efficient service. It would be nice if you could find some way to cut down on the number of email advices it takes to confirn a reservation., June 16, 2009 by Bill (William) Lawrence Visit Date:June 11, 2009 "This is my preferred hotel in Ubon. Quality rooms and service. Nice buffet breakfast. Convenient to the town centre and for songthaews to the Bus station (B10). The hotel also provides complimentary shuttle to anf from the airport." | Fast and efficient, no complaints here., March 30, 2009 by Lisa Whytock Visit Date:March 24, 2009 "The service in the hotel was pretty poor and we got food poisining from eating in the japanese restaurant. Our sushimi was actually frozen! Breakfast was pretty poor as well. The rooms are fine and big and clean, but I have stayed in guest houses that are much better value for money than this place." | Great, January 29, 2009 by Lars Erik Lunde Visit Date:January 14, 2009 "Great Hotel, Great People :-)" | January 22, 2011

Perfect booking service as usual. I can only recommend this service to everybody., July 28, 2008 by Alain Gass Visit Date:July 19, 2008 "I have been the fourth time in this hotel. For Ubon Ratchathani, the hotel is most probably the best hotel in town, however for the price, you should expect more from the service. The rooms are ok for the price, clean, reception staff was friendly, however less than in the previous years. Breakfast buffet also lost some points on my scale. Swimming pool would be not bad, but no sun umbrellas. Everybody can see, that nobody takes care about it. All over a good hotel, that has a good reputation as one of the best hotels in a quiet area in UBON. But the hotel management should impove in service, otherwise other hotels will get ahead of the Laithong Hotel very very soon. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" | Easy booking on WWW but must pay 100% before leaving your home, ie. pre-pay all hotel rooms.WWW site makes paying easy by remembering your reservation numbers., July 28, 2008 by Charles Marden Fitch Visit Date:July 14, 2008 "Very gracious staff @ comfortable hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet, clean rooms and central location. Free hotel bus to nearby airport. Town has several interesting Wats (temples) and is starting point for day trips to sites along Mekong River." | efficent as always., June 12, 2008 by Mark Wilson Visit Date:May 25, 2008 "good value for money, reasonably priced resturant, good if repretative breakfast.rooms cleaned daily, free airport pick up.one minus point, the in-house services are priced a litle crazily,1600 baht to wash a few cloths and we tried to hire a car and driver to take us to the local zoo(40km away) we were quoted 1800 bt,ok we thought a little steep for 3 hours max work, but we agreed until they told us we had to pay for the petrol as well.none the less would recommend. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" | Booking online via ubonratchatanihotels.com went smoothly., April 17, 2008 by George Morgan Visit Date:April 13, 2008 "Stayed two nights at the Laithong Hotel, Ubon Ratchatani, during Songkran 2008. Rooms are nice and the hotel is centrally located. Check in was fine but the receptionist behaved strangely by not wanting to talk directly to me, even though the booking was in my name and I addressed her in fluent Thai. She preferred to talk to my Thai wife, who sensing my irritation, walked away forcing the receptionist to talk to the person who was in a position to answer her questions. Breakfast was an unappetising selection of Thai and European food. We took a party of 10 to the Japanese/ Chinese restaurant. The food there was OK but the staff seemed totally untrained and spent most of the time hiding, so that we had to shout to bring them out of hiding whenever we wanted anything. There is free wi-fi in the rooms but during the day time it is overloaded and very difficult to connect with any websites. My wife left a $500 diamond ring in the soap dish in the bathroom by mistake. Two hours after checking out she realised her error and we went back to the hotel to look for it. It was gone and the room maid looked her in the eye and swore blind that she had not seen it - LOL. The Laithong is fine if you want a reasonably priced 3 star in the middle of town and don t expect good restaurants, efficient wi-fi or honest staff. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" | Hotels & Resorts RecommendDestination:Pranburi Location:Pranburi Beach Address:165/3 Moo 3 Paknampran, PranburiPranburi, City:Prachuap Khirikhan 77220 Start Rate:176 USD (Rate as of May 23 2012 02:03:24 GMT) Destination:Phuket Location:Kata Beach Address:82 Kata Road, Tambol Karon City:Amphur Muang, Phuket 83100 Start Rate:20 USD (Rate as of May 23 2012 02:04:10 GMT) Destination:Koh Phangan Location:Haad Rin Nok Hill Address:154/1-10 Moo 6, Haad Rin Nok Hill City:Koh Phangan, Surathani 84280 Start Rate:31 USD (Rate as of May 23 2012 02:03:30 GMT) Destination:Koh Phangan Location:Thong Nai Pan Noi Address:22/7 Moo 5, Bantai City:Koh Phangan, Suratthani, 84280 Start Rate:127 USD (Rate as of May 23 2012 02:03:30 GMT) Destination:Bangkok Location:Sathorn Road / Narathivas Road Address:311/2 New Satorn Rd., Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra24 City:Chongnonsri, Yannawa, Bangkok 10120 Start Rate:32 USD (Rate as of May 23 2012 02:03:55 GMT) Destination:Khao Lak Location:Khao Lak, Nang Tong Beach Address:158 Sritakuapa Road, Takuapa, City:Phang-Nga 82110 Start Rate:41 USD (Rate as of May 23 2012 02:04:06 GMT) Destination:Chiang Rai Location:Chiang Saen Address:229 Moo 1, Chiang Saen City:Chiang Rai 57150 Start Rate:874 USD (Rate as of May 23 2012 02:03:20 GMT) Destination:Hua Hin Location:Hua Hin Beach, Petchkasem Rd.
